How's It Going With Your Special Needs Child's Schooling?

Updated: Dec 15, 2020

Whether you're doing straight homeschooling, online schooling through your district, or a hybrid mix of on-campus/online schooling--it's time for a check-in: How's it going with your special needs child's schooling? Do you feel he/she is being properly engaged in whatever the learning situation looks like OR are you feeling he/she is falling behind? Are you feeling pleased, or frustrated? Most schools have been in session for 2-3 months now, and even homeschoolers have been at it about the same amount of time. It's important to be honest about how it's going, and assess whether or not your special needs child needs help in order to keep your child moving forward on his/her learning path. Take a moment to think on whether or not your child is keeping up with assignments, understanding the work, and enjoying learning OR if you are continuing to have to reteach what is taught in school, or cannot seem to get concepts across in the best way for your child to understand if you are the one doing the teaching (homeschooling). SO--be honest--how's it really going with your special needs child and schooling?

What's the best way to catch your child up OR make sure he/she stays on track?

Hire a specialized tutor who will work one-on-one with your child, engaging your child by creating assignments around his/her interests and by being able to modify lessons on the spot based on your child's personal educational and behavioral needs that day. You need a specialized tutor like me--the Special Needs Tutor Paula, Behavior Analyst (www.TutorPaulaBCBA.com) Why? Because I am also the mother of my own ASD/ADD/ODD teen whom I've had to homeschool unexpectedly, and whose school is now doing solely online schooling--so I get what you're going through--I've been going through it all as well! I also have almost 25 years experience tutoring special needs individuals, plus 4 years experience working as a behavioral therapist, and I just became a BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst). I can keep your child moving steadily forward on his/her learning path, no matter what the schools are doing, or what you've decided to do with your child's education, while offering support to you whether you are doing online or hybrid schooling again, or doing full-on homeschooling and need advice/homeschooling help (I offer homeschooling consultations on an as needed or continuous basis). FREE 1hr consultation is offered right now to talk with me about your situation and your child! I can help make sure your child stays on his/her track to learning!
